More than 1,000 years ago, a bandit of brutal ogres lived in the deep mountain
of Ooe-yama in Kyoto. The head of the group was an infamous Shuten-doji,
who stopped at nothing of villainy.
Eventually, the Ichijo-tenno (Emperor Ichijo) decided to exclude the bandit, and summoned his warriors.
On the way to Mt. Ooe, they encountered a woman who had been kidnapped
by the bandit. She guided them to sneak into the feast that was full of
ogres.....
This story features the folktale, Shuten-doji. One of the four warriors is Sakata-no-Kintoki, who is the grown-up figure of Kintaro, a popular folktale hero.
