Shio-harai (Purification with salt)
This is also called "Yomo-barai(purification of all directions).It is a ritual dance which purifies every part of the stage before offering sacred dances to deities. In Japan, salt is ofen used in purification. So this dance is called "Shio(salt)-harai(purification)."
